My name is Georgios Toulis. I
live in Katerini, a small town in Greece,
near the Olympus mountain. I work as a
physical education teacher at the Lyceum of Kontariotissa.
When I was 10 years old I asked my father a camera as a present for my name day and he bought me a point and shoot one. After, I
loved photography, I bought many different cameras, I had a darkroom, I took art-photography seminars and I co-ordinated a school photo club for my pupils.
I do not
know how I learnt the essentials of photography’s techniques back at early 80’s. I learnt some things from a friend, some things
by experimenting, some things accidentally. There were no books about
photography in the local bookstores and of course the web didn't exist.
Nowdays, it is
easy to learn photography’s basics if you search the web. This page is made exactly for
this purpose: to help beginners understand the basics of photography.
